Delete your Margot account
Margot is made by Margot LLC. You can delete your account yourself at any time, and it takes effect straight away.
How to delete your account
On the web
Open Settings, tap Account, then Delete account.
In the iPhone app
Open Settings, tap Account, then Delete account.
In the Android app
Open Settings, tap Account, then Delete account.
Deleting is permanent and there is no undo. If you might want your records later, use Export in the same place first.
What is deleted right away
- Your account and profile
- Your brands, deals, notes, links and codes
- Your inbox connections, and the access you gave us to your Google account
- The notification tokens for your devices
- Your waitlist and marketing-list entries
Everything we hold in our own systems is deleted at once, with no waiting period.
What we keep, and for how long
The service providers we use hold some records that reference you, and we do not currently instruct them to delete those records when you close your account:
- Sentry holds error diagnostics from the app.
- Resend holds delivery logs for the emails we sent you.
- PostHog holds product analytics events.
They are kept and removed according to each provider’s own retention practices, which in some cases means they are kept indefinitely. We do not use them to identify or contact you. The full detail is in section 8 of our Privacy Policy.
Can’t sign in?
Email hello@hellomargot.ai from any address and tell us the account email. We send a one-time code to that account address to confirm it is yours, then delete the account within 30 days. If you used Sign in with Apple and hid your email, Apple forwards our code to you.
